A new and exciting Initiative benefiting regional Exporters and Importers

The Economic Development Corporation of Erie County (EDC) has launched a comprehensive and multi-faceted effort to grow the region’s logistics and shipping industry known as the Erie Inland Port Initiative.  By improving the region’s access to rail and water-borne transportation, it is possible to reduce transportation time and cost which in turn reduces prices for consumers and producers, making Erie a more effective competitor in the world market.

The EDC has developed a survey to determine the volume of the regional marketplace to support the need for an efficient logistics service. We are asking local and regional manufacturers and shippers to take this survey.

Your participation in this survey is essential to advancing the Erie Region closer to world markets by providing data on the local level. During the next six months, the EDC and the Northwest Commission are jointly working on the completion of this survey within the Lake Erie Region including Northwest Pennsylvania and its bordering states and counties.

Please determine the right person within your organization to complete the survey, and contact Dorte Heffernan or call 814.677.4800 Ext. 110 with any questions.  Many thanks!
