The Corporation
The Penn-Northwest Development Corporation is a private, non-profit economic development corporation established in accord with the Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c)3. Contributions furthering economic growth and community development may be tax deductible.
Membership
Membership is open to all persons, corporations, associations, or other organizations who are interested in the furtherance of the Penn-Northwest, Mercer County, economic development program and its goals and objectives, and who have contributed or pledged or hereafter shall contribute or pledge an amount, the minimum and nature of which to be determined from time to time by the Board. A corporate member shall designate in writing one of its officers or member of senior management to serve as its voting representative. Non-profits shall designate the chief executive officer to represent the agency or organization.
Board of Directors
Directors are elected annually from the membership to serve three (3) year terms. Directors include 33 private sector; 12 non-profit/charitable and 3 public. Public representation is provided by the three Mercer County Commissioners.
Acknowledgment
Submitting this application I/we hereby understand that, if accepted and upon payment of dues (contribution), as established by the Board of Directors, I/we become a member of the corporation. Such membership entitles me/us to be eligible for election to the Board of Directors and offices of the corporation. I/we hereby agree with the goals and objectives of the Penn-Northwest Development Corporation and the furtherance of economic development activities and programs in support of new investment and the creation of new job opportunities in Mercer County and the surrounding area.
